https://diglosiaunmul.com/index.php/diglosia/article/view/1224

This study focused to evaluate the implementation of Javanese local content learning in the merdeka curriculum at SD 2 Blimbing Kidul. The findings of this study can be used as a reference in efforts to develop Javanese language learning at the elementary school level. This research applies a qualitative approach with a single case study design. Researcher subject was SD 2 Blimbing Kidul. Participatory observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation collection were used as techniques in collecting data. In analyzing the data, the Miles and Huberman model was used, while the validity of the data was tested using triangulation of methods and sources. The results indicate that the implementation of Javanese language learning in the merdeka curriculum has not run optimally, both in terms of planning, implementation, and assessment. The lack of variety in learning methods and assessments has an impact on low student involvement and achievement of learning objectives. In the assessment aspect, the assessments applied tend to be summative only, so they are unable to accommodate students' potential and development. Another obstacle is the limited references for teachers and the lack of creativity in developing learning media, which causes students to feel bored in the Javanese language learning process.
Achmad Supriyanto RyanNur Hanifah Insani

The urgency of this study lies in the significance of children's viewing media, particularly animated films, as a means of character development and the internalization of politeness values aligned with Indonesian cultural norms. Amid the proliferation of media content that neglects educational aspects, local animated films emerge as a potential alternative for reinforcing character education. This study aims to reveal representations of politeness among Indonesian children in five locally produced animated films released between 2015–2021: Diva The Series (2015), Cerita Eza dan Adi (2017), Nussa (2018), Sampah Sandi (2019), and Riko The Series Season 2 (2021). Employing a pragmatic approach, the study applies Leech's politeness principle theory. Data collection techniques include observation, attentive listening, note-taking, and literature review. The data were analyzed through a process of selection, interpretation, and conclusion. The findings indicate that politeness is represented through character interactions, such as courteous speech, respectful attitudes, and the use of polite language. Each film emphasizes different maxims, with the Tact Maxim emerging as the most dominant. The study concludes that Indonesian animated films serve not only as entertainment but also as educational media that instill politeness values consistent with local cultural and social norms.
Ahmad Abdul KarimMartutik MartutikGatut Susanto

https://diglosiaunmul.com/index.php/diglosia/article/view/1233

This study addresses how Arabic language instruction is implemented at the State Islamic University (UIN) Raden Fatah Palembang. It explores the application of instructional design based on an integrative approach using a case study and a descriptive qualitative approach. Conducted at the Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training for four to six months, the research involved 85 students and 11 lecturers through interviews, questionnaires, and document analysis. Data were analyzed using NVivo 12 Pro software. The findings indicated that the Arabic language course has been offered in the first semester for Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training students (FITK); however, its integration with other study programs remains limited. Some study programs, such as Primary School Teacher Education, Early Childhood Islamic Education, Islamic Education Management, Islamic Religious Education, Mathematics, and Biology, have integrated Arabic. Meanwhile, some others like Chemistry, Physics, and English Education have not applied such integration. Survey results indicated that although 50 out of 85 students have acknowledged the integration efforts, it remains suboptimal in the implementation. This study recommends the development of an integrative, cross-disciplinary Arabic language curriculum at the university to enhance the relevance and engagement of students in applying Arabic according to their academic fields.
Kristina ImrobDolla SobariMuhammad Yahya AbdullahSalwa Humairoh

https://diglosiaunmul.com/index.php/diglosia/article/view/1269

This article examines the conceptual representation of knowledge in Arabic proverbs mahfuzhat displayed on the walls of two Indonesian Islamic boarding schools (pesantren): Condong and Al-Bahjah. Employing Lakoff and Johnson’s conceptual metaphor theory and a descriptive-analytical qualitative approach, the study analyzes 10 Arabic proverbs collected through field observation, documentation, and semi-structured interviews. The findings reveal that knowledge is metaphorized as light, spiritual adornment, the path to paradise, fruitful trees, and a defining feature of humanity. These metaphors illustrate how mahfuzhat function not merely as decorative or rhetorical devices, but as pedagogical tools that foster character, discipline, and reverence for knowledge in pesantren education. The study highlights the educational and moral significance of Arabic proverbs as cultural texts and demonstrates their role in shaping the intellectual and spiritual formation of santri. This research contributes to the growing discourse on metaphor and education by foregrounding mahfuzhat as a distinct source of Islamic educational values, often overlooked in metaphor studies.
Faiz FatkhullahHanafiah HanafiahFarhan Farhan

https://diglosiaunmul.com/index.php/diglosia/article/view/1299

Therefore, this research aims to find strategies to convey directive prohibition utterances with honorific politeness, philosophical reflected shown in prohibition utterances with honorific politeness strategies, and the pattern of directive prohibition utterances with honorific politeness strategies in the Makassar community families. An ethnolinguistic approach is used because the way Makassarese people speak is shaped by ethnic and customary values. This research applies qualitative research method. Data sources are utterances and field note results obtained from three families with Makassar ethnic background who live in Makassar city. To collect data, the researcher stayed in their homes. The results show that direct prohibition utterances are used more dominantly than indirect prohibition in family conversations in Makassar society. It indicates that the Makassar community tends to prioritize positive politeness, show closeness in relationships, and convey messages clearly and unambiguously. Those directive prohibition utterances contain philosophical values, namely honesty, firmness, clarity, spontaneity, affection, respect, and maintenance of harmonious relationships.
Nashruddin NashruddinUmmi Khaerati SyamWaliyudin WaliyudinFitrawahyudi Fitrawahyudi
